Neil Young has posted a new video and tune online called "Shut It Down."
The video paints a pretty stark picture of the world right now because of COVOID-19.
The song comes from Young's most recent album with Crazy Horse, Colorado and features clips of the band in the studio, before social distancing, cut with what is essentially the world now -- actual footage and photos of families separated by quarantine, hospital workers without appropriate gear and protection, collage kids ignoring the call to self-quarantine, empty streets, carparks, towns, and motoways.
With the video, Neil took to his website, NeilYoungArchives.com, to have a pop at Trump writing, “Ignore the actions of world leaders who are too vain to wear masks. They are not leading. Putt your own vanity away for the good of your fellow man; wear a mask in public to stop the spread."
Neil Young, Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, and Dave Matthews will perform on Saturday (April 11th) at the digital event and fundraiser, At Home with Farm Aid.
The show will air online at FarmAid.org. The performances are taking place to show "support and solidarity for family farmers and ranchers."
