WATCH: New Trailer For Benedict Cumberbatch’s Thriller Eric Has Arrived

Eric, a new thriller starring Benedict Cumberbatch has arrived and is one that is not to be missed.

This series which arrives on Netflix, set in dystopian version of 1980s corrupt New York City and will last for six parts. It tells the real-life story of a father who is trying to bring his missing son home, while battling demons of his own alongside a profane puppet.

Created by Emmy-Award winning Abi Morgan, the series will star Cumberbatch alongside McKinley Belcher as Detective Michael Ledroit, Gaby Hoffman as Cassie Anderson, Dan Fogler as Lennie Wilson, and Clarke Peters portraying George Lovett.

Benedict Cumberbatch Stars In Eric

A synopsis for this thriller Eric, starring Benedict Cumberbatch has said the following.

“Vincent, one of New York’s leading puppeteers and creator of the hugely popular children’s television show, Good Day Sunshine, struggles to cope with the loss of his son, Edgar, becoming increasingly distressed and volatile”, it says.

The synopsis continues: “Full of self-loathing and guilt around Edgar’s disappearance, he clings to his son’s drawings of a blue monster puppet, ERIC, convinced that if he can get ERIC on TV then Edgar will come home”. 

“As Vincent’s progressively destructive behaviour alienates his family, his work colleagues, and the detectives trying to help him, it’s Eric, a delusion of necessity, who becomes his only ally in the pursuit to bring his son home”.

Back in March 2022, Benedict Cumberbatch had pledged to take Ukrainian refugees into his home, as part of the British Government’s British Government’s “homes for Ukraine” scheme.
