Paul Simon played “Can’t Run But” and “Bridge Over Troubled Water” on Saturday Night Live on Oct. 13 th, three weeks following the completion of his farewell tour.
It was fitting that Simon, 77, said his goodbyes on the show. The musician had been the show’s second-ever host when he got back with Art Grafunkel on screen in 1975. Coming to the end of “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” Simon appeared visibly moved as hh stood there for the crowd’s applause. According to UCR the singer touched his heart and offered a clasped-hand salute.
