Over the weekend Pearl Jam joined forces with members of the Red Hot Chili Peppers & Kings of Leon to form a supergroup.
Pearl Jam were headlining the New Orleans Jazz festival over the weekend and decided to invite members of both bands onto the stage. For their encore they brought out some special guests; Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Josh Klinghoffer and drummer Chad Smith, as well as Kings of Leon drummer Nathan Followill.
The impromptu supergroup performed a classic rock standard from Neil Young 'Rockin' in the Free World' for their encore. Chad Smith was behind the kit for the song as Klinghoffer played guitar and Nathan Followill played the tambourine.
Pearl Jam recently announced the cancellation of their gig in North Carolina, which follows on from the likes of Ringo Starr and Bruce Springsteen who did the same.
Earlier this month North Carolina passed the state law which means individuals must use bathrooms corresponding to their biological sex, a move which negatively impacts on trans people. A number of artists have since pulled out of gigs in the state to show their disapproval for the new law.
