Picturehouse are set to take the Extra Sessions stage tonight at 8pm, having not all been onstage together since a sold-out gig on Dublin’s Lost Lane venue last November.
The opportunity to savour uplifting songs such as Sunburst and All The Time In The World make Picturehouse the perfect choice for the third Extra Session on Extra.ie.

‘Extra Sessions’ is recorded at Temple Bar’s ‘Wild Duck’, and supported by a full team of Sound Engineers, Lighting experts and Stage Crews.
The band are also putting the finishing touches to a new live album that will be released in the next few months but despite their proactivity, they are facing the same challenges as everyone in their industry.
Singer Dave Browne commented “I don’t need to tell you how devastated everybody in the music industry is. They are cutting the PUP by 50 quid and we’re still not allowed to work. We just feel thrown under the bus. When we were asked to do the Extra Sessions that felt great; to put it bluntly it was great to know that someone gave a sh*te about bands and the position all of us are in.”
Picturehouse’s albums Shine Box, Karmarama and Evolution all made the Irish top ten and those successes led to shows in venues such as Marlay Park and the 3 Arena.
In May they recorded a new track for Radio Nova, When I See You Again and invited people to reach out to each other with a picture and a message to a loved one simply saying how much they loved and missed them. Then the band edited these messages and images into a video to accompany the song.
Extra Sessions will stream on Extra.ie from 8pm every Thursday and Picturehouses performance will be available to watch for free until midnight on Sunday, September 27.
Extra Sessions will see both established and emerging artists once again take to the stage to perform full live shows, as captured by Extra.ie and streamed weekly on the platform throughout the autumn season.
In addition to each participant being paid fully for their work, the ‘Extra Sessions’ will donate the footage to the artist for their own promotional use once it has been transmitted all in the hopes of boosting their industry as well as their profile.
Great care was taken in capturing the ‘Extra Sessions’ performances, with socially distanced musicians, limitations on wind instruments, and a production rota and protocols that ensured strict adherence to government guidelines and restrictions.
Tune in to the ‘Extra Sessions’ TONIGHT and each Thursday at 8pm until midnight the following Sunday from September 10th only on Extra.ie FOR FREE
