Neil Young was to set the stage ablaze with his performance of “Rockin’ In The Free World” at BottleRock Napa Valley festival last month, but according to reports, there were a few setbacks!

The San Francisco Chronicle reported via Spin that a strict 10 p.m. curfew has always been in place since back in 2013.

The noise from the concerts has had a disturbing influence on the peace of the nearby residents and as a result of their complaints, the curfew was first initiated.

However, like many of the performers who have done so in the past, Young decided to play through the curfew until the festival cut off the speakers on the main stage. Leaving the rocker and his band to play with only the feed coming through much quieter stage amps.

According to The Chronicle, Young is hardly the first artist to break BottleRock’s curfew. The Foo Fighters who broke it in 2017 and The Cure in 2014 were amongst those who had the plug pulled.

Staging music festivals in residential neighbourhoods can be tricky but so far it hasn’t stopped the festival organiser’s and each year some great line-ups are attracted to play there.

They have included Imagine Dragons, Logic, OneRepublic, Mumford & Sons, Santana, Pharrell Williams, Big Boi, Citizen Cope, Shannon & The Clams to name but a few.
