Smashing Pumpkins debuted a cover of The Cure’s “Friday I’m in Love” at a show in Wisconsin on er a Wednesday night. Guitarist James Iha lead the dreamy cover, as frontman Billy Corgan took a back seat.
According to Alternative Nation via CoS, the group also played “Knights of Malta” and “Travels” lifted from their new record Shiny and Oh So Bright Vol. 1. They also played their cover of Depeche Mode’s “Never Let Me Down Again”, which they have not rolled out since 1995. The Pumpkins also showcased Machina II’s “Dross” for the first time in roughly 18 years.
