On the the third night, Stevie Wonder took to the stage at the DNC, in support of Kamala Harris.

Ahead of his performance of ‘Higher Ground’, Stevie Wonder said to the crowd: “We must keep on keeping on until we are truly a united people of these United States and then we will reach a higher ground”.

As well as Wonder, the night also saw John Legend deliver a live performance of ‘Let’s Go Crazy’, in honour of the song’s author Prince.

This live rendition from Legend was a tribute to Prince’s home state of Minnesota, where Vice Presidential nominee Tim Walz serves as Governor. The show also preceded Walz’s keynote address.

Back in February, Billy Joel reflected on being taught how to sing by Stevie Wonder. Joel made these comments while recording his charity single ‘We Are The World’ in 1985.

Along with Wonder and Dylan, this single also featured contributions from Bruce Springsteen, Michael Jackson, Lionel Ritchie, Tina Turner, Cyndi Lauper, Diana Ross among others.
