At last night’s closing Olympics ceremony, Tom Cruise stunned the audience by signalling the handing over of hosting duties to Los Angeles in 2028.
In a special cameo appearance, Hollywood actor Cruise abseiled in from the Stade de France’s roof to the entrance song of the Mission Impossible theme, offering a sneak preview into what we can expect from the games in 4 years time.

After he collected the Olympic flag, Tom Cruise jumped onto his motorcycle, before zooming out of the stadium.
As Cruise took the flag to the US, a Mission Impossible-style movie montage followed. Cruise also skydived with a mad dash to the Hollywood sign.
Following these exploits from Cruise, attention soon turned to Red Hot Chili Peppers who performed a live set from Venice Beach in LA. Singer Billie Eilish also performed her new hit, ‘Birds of a Feather’.

These Olympic Games turned out to be Ireland’s most successful, winning seven medals overall, including four golds, with Kellie Harrington, Fintan McCarthy & Paul O’Donovan, Daniel Wiffen and Rhys McCleneghan all coming out on top in several events.
Speaking of Cruise, a retro sports car which was used in the film Risky Business also went up for sale recently.
The car in question is a 1979 Porsche 928, which was even named the Car of the Decade in its day.
The gold bodywork, curvaceous design, and sporty performance also caught the eye of Paul Brickman, the film’s director.
“The 1980s were particularly fertile times for high school coming of age movies”, a spokesperson said.
“But before Ferris Bueller took his day off in Cameron’s dad’s Ferrari, fellow Chicagoan Paul Brickman directed a young and largely unheard of actor from upstate New York by the name of Tom Cruise in the 1983 classic Risky Business.
