It's the interview that everyone is talking about – with a Twitter clip of the chat reaching more than 44 million views!
Axios National Political Correspondent, Jonathan Swan, spoke with President Donald Trump about multiple topics including the coronavirus crisis, the Black Lives Matter movement, the November election, and U.S. Foreign Policy in Afghanistan, China, and Russia.
Reaction to the Presidents responses to questions have not been received postively.
Asked how he can say the pandemic is under control when roughly 1,000 Americans are dying from Covid-19 each day, Trump said, remarkably, that “it is what it is.”
“They are dying. That’s true. It is what it is. ... It’s under control as much as you can control it.”
The interview has been dubbed “car crash” or “train wreck”, but in fact Trump loves it and told Swan afterwards to make sure it was broadcast in its entirety.
.@jonathanvswan: “Oh, you’re doing death as a proportion of cases. I’m talking about death as a proportion of population. That’s where the U.S. is really bad. Much worse than South Korea, Germany, etc.”@realdonaldtrump: “You can’t do that.”

On social media, Swan was lauded as “one of the best live interviewers on the planet” and an “American hero”. Swan also appeared confused by the President’s responses, and photos of his perplexed reactions have gone viral.
