Wildlife Loves A Bit Of Johnny Rotten
Flea bites off more than it can chew

John Lydon, ex-Sex Pistols frontman got a bit more than he bargained for when he let wildlife into his Venice Beach home. The PiL singer has long been a big animal lover. He shocked some fans, more used to spitting and swearing from the punk legend, when he started presenting wildlife programmes back in 2004.

John Lydon Goes Ape on Five and John Lydon's Mega Bugs on the Discovery Channel showcased Lydon's sparky style and sheer excitement about animals of all kinds. The self-professed anarchist's Californian home is always open to the creatures that live around him. Local wildlife has the run of his house.

John says squirrels come in and ramble through the house and birds pop in for a bite to eat.

“I don’t touch wild creatures or turn them into pets, I leave them alone – and them me", Lydon says.“[But a flea] bit my willy. No, the squirrel didn’t bite me, it was the flea. I wouldn’t let a squirrel near my penis. My God! I’m a married man!”

The flea was not available for comment.
