Windmill Studios Open Doors For First Ever Public Tours

The famous Windmill Lane studios in Ringsend on the city's southside has launched its visitor experience, where music lovers will be given guided tours around the historic building.

The tour of the iconic building and its recording studios are the first of its kind in Ireland, the tour presents visitors with a rare chance to understand the creation and production of some of the most iconic albums and songs of the past 40 years.

The artists that recorded there include The Rolling Stones, Kate Bush, The Cranberries, U2, Hozier, Van Morrison, Sinead O’Connor, Metallica, Riverdance, Def Leppard, Lady Gaga to name but a few.

Windmill Lane Director, Tony Perry says many famous artists have recorded there:

"The Spice Girls to Kylie Minogue to ACDC to Metallica. Riverdance was recorded here, some wonderful film scores and beautiful orchestral recordings. The Rolling Stones and obviously Windmill Lane has a deep association with U2, so we've had U2 in Windmill Lane on and off over many many years".
