August 2<sup>nd<\/sup> in Music History looks like this.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1960, <strong>Johnny Kidd and The Pirates<\/strong> were at No.1 on the UK singles chart with 'Shakin' All Over'. Their only UK No.1. Kidd died in car crash in 1966. Many acts have covered the song, including:\u00a0The Who,\u00a0Led Zeppelin,\u00a0Iggy Pop and The Guess Who.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Shakin&#039; All Over\/Spoonful\/Twist And Shout - The Who (Live at the Isle of Wight)\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/GS4xfHUR14I?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>1964,\u00a0<strong>The Beatles<\/strong>\u00a0appeared at the Gaumont Cinema in Bournemouth. One of the supporting acts, billed as a 'new and unknown London group', was\u00a0<strong>The Kinks.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1968,\u00a0<strong>The Doors<\/strong>\u00a0started a two week run at No.1 on the US singles chart with 'Hello I Love You', the group's second US No.1. The Doors scored 8 top 40 US hits from 67-71.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Doors - Hello, I Love You\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/hzM71scYw0M?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>1986, Chris De Burgh was at No.1 in the UK with 'The Lady In Red', it was his first No.1 after twenty-four single releases, staying at the top of the charts for three weeks.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"LADY IN RED   -  Chris De Burgh\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/FC1C4g8YOA4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>2000, Jerome Smith from <strong>KC and the Sunshine Band<\/strong> died after being crushed by a bulldozer he was operating. Had the 1975 US No.1 single 'Get Down Tonight' and the 1983 UK No.1 single 'Give It Up.<\/p>\n<p>2000, Liverpool music store Rushworth and Dreaper closed down after 150 years of trading. The store had become famous after supplying <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thisdayinmusic.com\/pages\/the_beatles_page\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>The Beatles<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and other Liverpool group's with musical instruments.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-149619\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nova.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Beatles-Rushworth-300x295.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"527\" height=\"518\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nova.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Beatles-Rushworth-300x295.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.nova.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Beatles-Rushworth-696x685.jpg 696w, https:\/\/www.nova.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Beatles-Rushworth-427x420.jpg 427w, https:\/\/www.nova.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Beatles-Rushworth.jpg 760w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 527px) 100vw, 527px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>2005, <strong>Status Quo<\/strong> filmed a cameo appearance in UK's Coronation Street playing themselves.
