“there’s just no one like her” – Yale Hail Beyoncé

This course will allow students to take part in screenings of Beyoncé’s visual albums, lively debates on her works about her from various scholars, as well as crafting playlists comparing her work to her musical predecessors and more.

Speaking about this course, Daphne Brooks who is a professor of African American Studies and Music, said that the recent US Election is a key opportunity to study Beyoncé, and her contribution to American culture.

“The number of breakthroughs and innovations she’s executed and the way she’s interwoven history and politics and really granular engagements with Black cultural life into her performance aesthetics and her utilisation of her voice as a portal to think about history and politics — there’s just no one like her”, she said.

Beyoncé has become the latest artist to have a university course launched in her honour. Arizona State University also launched a Psychology of Taylor Swift course.

Beyoncé also received as many as 11 Grammy Nominations, including album of the year of Cowboy Carter.

Irish band Fontaines D.C also received two nominations. More on this from Nova here.
