Paul Mescal feels fans will "benefit from knowing as little as possible" ahead of the upcoming Beatles biopics before watching them.

The films which are scheduled to be released in April 2028, will see Irish actor Mescal star as Paul McCartney, with fellow Irish actor Barry Keoghan playing Ringo Starr, while Harris Dickinson and Joseph Quinn will star as John Lennon and George Harrison respectively.

Directed by Sam Mendes, the biopics will also see Irish actress Saoirse Ronan starring as Linda McCartney, Anna Sawai playing Yoko Ono, Mia McKenna-Bruce playing Maureen Starkey, Ringo Starr's first wife, while Amiee Lou Wood will play Pattie Boyd, George Harrison's first wife.

Now, speaking to Variety, Paul Mescal says fans will benefit from not knowing too much about these movies beforehand.

He said: “I don’t want to get into the Beatles thing, not coyly, but actually because I think the world hopefully will benefit from knowing as little as possible going into it".

The Golden Globe nominee also went on to reveal that production for The Beatles - A Four-Film Cinematic Event, is still ongoing.

“We’re a while away from finishing,” he explained. “That’s my job for all of 2026".

The actor also said that he and co stars Harris Dickinson, Joseph Quinn, and Barry Keoghan are "pinching themselves" over being involved in this project.

“I think the endeavour is totally singular", he said.  “On a personal level, I’m so thrilled to be working on something at this scale, but also rooted in performance with Sam and great writers".

Mescal added: “But also just to be living and working in London and to have some sort of stability in what has been like a kind of mad six, seven years since Normal People came out.”

Ahead of these projects, Paul Mescal also insisted that he will be doing his own singing in his role as Paul McCartney.

"I've learned so much. It's really inspired a love", he said. "I've always loved music, but getting to play one of the great songwriters and great frontmen has really lit a fire in terms of personally writing music and engaging and hearing music in a different way".

On McCartney, Mescal added: "He's the most brilliant man. I feel emotionally attached to him. He received me with great kindness and warmth. One of the many benefits of shooting a Beatles anthology is that you get to do the job and not talk about the job".
